By default, your humble Till store will be set with a default invoice numbering designation of INV-1.
Whenever a sale is processed and an invoice number is generated by the store, the number will increase by one. However, you may want to have your invoices numbered in a different way.
Perhaps you'd like to have a custom prefix or a different numbering structure. In other cases, you might need to have your invoice numbers follow a different sequence.
Whatever the need, you can easily modify these aspects from the Settings Tab of your humble Till by simply following these steps:
1. Simply navigate towards and click on the Settings Tab:
2. Click on the General Tab on the top left of your screen:
You will see two fields, directly underneath the Receipt Settings header :
- Receipt Number Prefix
A prefix that will apply to all sales. This can be letters and/or numbers. All sales will share the same prefix
- Next Receipt Number
This will begin the numerical sequence used for your sales. For example, if set it to 1001, the very next sale processed in your store will be 1001 and all subsequent orders will be sequentially numbered (1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, etc)
3. To change your Receipt Number Prefix, simply click on the box and enter in the new prefix e.g. Receipt/ Order/ Invoice and click outside the box again for it to save.
4. To change your Next Receipt Number, simply click on the box and enter in the new number e.g. 1000/ 2000/ 0001 and click outside the box again for it to save.
Please note that the Receipt Number Prefix and Next Receipt Number are device specific, so if you do use more than one device to make sales on the humble Till, it would be a good idea to make the Receipt Number Prefix device specific i.e. INV-TILLA and INV-TILLB
Important: Please note that should the Content Settings including the cookies and site data be cleared from Google Chrome that the Receipt Settings in your humble webTill will default back to INV-1.
