Receipt Printer not printing:

What to do if your Epson TM-T20 Ethernet printer is not printing from your humble iPad Till

To start check that the printer is powered on and is plugged in to your WiFi router ?

Next, check that the printer has paper ?

Check you have an active internet connection. The Ethernet printer connects to your iPad over WiFi and cannot print if there is no WiFi connection. It may be necessary to re-start your WiFi router to re-establish the internet connection.

Check that the option Use Receipt Printer is ticked on your Till. To do this: 

  • Select Settings
  • Select General
  • Select Receipt Printer Settings
  • Ensure Use Receipt Printer is ticked

Once you have checked all the above and your printer is still not printing, you might need to re-find the printer on the till. To do that follow these steps:

  • Log in to the till and select Settings, then select General
  • In General, select Receipt Printer Settings
  • Ensure Use Receipt Printer is ticked
  • Select Receipt Printer Type
  • A list of printers will come up, select the model name of the printer you have installed in store

If you selected an Epson printer, the till will come up with a “Searching for Epson printers” message. Once the till picks up your printer, a small slip should print from your printer. Check the IP address on the slip and choose the corresponding IP address on your iPad screen.

Your printer is now re-connected and should now print a slip at the end of each transaction.

What to do if your Starmicronics TSP 650II Bluetooth Printer is not printing from your humble iPad Till:

Check that the printer is on ?

Check that the printer has paper.

Check that the Bluetooth is enabled on the printer and the printer is paired with the iPad. You can check this on the iPad Settings by selecting Bluetooth on the menu on the left of the screen then Check if the Starmicronics printer shows as Connected under My Devices.

On the humble Till, check the Receipt Printer Settings. To do this, log in to your humble Till then

  • Select Settings
  • Select General
  • Select Receipt Printer Settings
  • Ensure Use Receipt Printer has a tick
  • Ensure that the Receipt Printer Type is set to Star TSP650 Bluetooth
